This Pinay. There are many Filipinos here, in this strange, non-English speaking country. We're in a foreign land and yet we're not excessively homesick. There are many Filipino women in particular. Some are making a living, some studying, some raising a family, some doing all of the above. Some in less fortunate circumstances than others.

In Tokyo. This bustling city of more than 12 million. Without doubt, one of the densest places on earth, arguably one of the most convenient. A city built around a complicated network of trains, where a strong earthquake is rumored to be long overdue. This is where I live right now, where these memoirs are taking place.
